BD ORTHO® offers a comprehensive geographical image of the French national territory, providing a detailed "view from the sky." This imagery is a crucial digital tool, serving as a reference for local authorities and government ministries to enhance territorial development and improve the visualization of various professional datasets and projects.

The imagery is produced at a high resolution of 20 cm, available in both natural colors and color infrared. The BD ORTHO® dataset is updated on a cycle of 3 to 4 years, with approximately thirty new departments produced annually and made available continuously. Online resources are also updated in real-time to ensure access to the latest data.

The platform provides direct download links for the latest editions of BD ORTHO® data, organized by department. For instance, recent editions for departments like Ain (01) and Aisne (02) from 2024 are available for direct download in multi-part 7z archives.
