TCCON Data Archive

This archive provides accurate and precise column-averaged abundances of various atmospheric gases like CO2, CH4, and H2O, retrieved from direct solar spectra recorded by the TCCON network. Data is publicly available in netCDF format, along with auxiliary information like averaging kernels and a priori profiles for research and analysis.

TCCON is a network of ground-based Fourier Transform Spectrometers that record direct solar spectra in the near-infrared spectral region. From these spectra, accurate and precise column-averaged abundances of key atmospheric gases such as CO2, CH4, N2O, HF, CO, H2O, and HDO are retrieved. Technical reports detailing the GGG2020 and GGG2014 versions of the retrievals, including spectral linelists, are publicly available for comprehensive documentation and understanding of the data processing.

Data, provided in netCDF format, becomes publicly available no later than one year after spectra are recorded, with many sites releasing their data even earlier. Each record includes citation and data use requirements, along with essential auxiliary data like column averaging kernels and a priori profiles. A stand-alone program for generating TCCON a priori profiles for locations without direct measurements, and a JSON file mapping GGG2014 to GGG2020 variable names, are also downloadable.

The website also offers a JSON file with current TCCON site locations and a tool to generate Bibtex citations for data and sites. Users are encouraged to review data use guidelines before downloading and can sign up for an email list for updates. This resource serves as a central hub for high-quality atmospheric composition data.
