SatCen GEOINT Course

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), leveraging Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and ArcGIS Pro Desktop software. The curriculum spans three weeks, beginning with foundational elements of GIS, expertise in ArcGIS Pro tools, and the basics of GEOINT, including data types, sources, and engineering. Attendees will perform common GIS tasks and workflows through practical exercises.

The second and third weeks delve into advanced techniques for implementing geo-spatial data and combining it with other intelligence sources to produce GEOINT products. This module focuses on complex tools for processing and extracting information, requiring a deeper knowledge of GIS tools and data processing. Key subjects include analytical techniques, cartography, visualization, and in-depth GEOINT analysis through case studies.

Upon completion, participants will be able to understand GIS and GEOINT concepts, manage and analyze geographic datasets, perform data fusion, and prepare data for successful geospatial analysis. The course also emphasizes querying and analyzing GIS data for decision support, creating feasibility studies, analyzing terrain and imagery, and generating products for decision-makers. Prerequisites include minimum English language proficiency and EU SECRET security clearance, along with prior GIS software knowledge.
