RapidCrops

RapidCrops is presented as a pan-European label dataset specifically designed for large-scale crop classification. It encompasses an extensive collection of 99 million agricultural parcel boundaries, featuring harmonized crop type information. This comprehensive dataset covers seven European Union countries, with data available for periods ranging from five to seven years.

The data within RapidCrops is meticulously derived from parcel boundaries and crop type information reported under the EU IACS programme. The methodology employed aims to enhance the usability of these parcel boundaries while preserving their original integrity. Additionally, the dataset provides supplementary attributes that are crucial for supporting machine learning workflows, especially those that integrate Earth Observation (EO) data.

This valuable dataset builds upon significant prior contributions within the geospatial community. Notably, it leverages the EuroCrops crop dataset harmonisation initiative and adheres to the fiboa open data standard for parcel boundaries, ensuring interoperability and consistency.
