R for Geographic Data Science

This online book provides an introduction to geographic data science using the R programming language. It was developed as a companion for the GY7702 R for Data Science module within the MSc in Geographic Information Science program at the University of Leicester's School of Geography, Geology, and the Environment. The resource is described as a work in progress, currently undergoing revision for the 2023/24 academic module.

The materials aim to equip geographers with the necessary skills for data science using R, a widely adopted programming language.
