Mapbox Geocoding API

The Mapbox Geocoding API offers two primary functions: forward geocoding and reverse geocoding. Forward geocoding translates textual addresses, such as 2 Lincoln Memorial Circle SW, into precise geographic coordinates like -77.050, 38.889. Conversely, reverse geocoding converts geographic coordinates, for instance, -77.050, 38.889, back into corresponding place names or addresses like 2 Lincoln Memorial Circle SW.

This powerful API supports a wide range of geographic feature types, allowing for detailed and specific location queries. These types, ordered from largest to most granular, include country, region, postcode, district, place, and locality. These feature types can be used for filtering search results or appear as contextual information within a geocoding response.
