LILA BC

This page acts as a comprehensive tracker for conservation-related labeled datasets that are not directly hosted on the LILA platform. It serves as a complement to the existing list of LILA datasets, aiming to provide a unified resource for all known conservation-related labeled data. The primary focus is on datasets that are nearly "machine-learning-ready", meaning they offer an interesting set of labels linked to corresponding images, documents, or other media.

Several boundaries define the scope of this list. It specifically avoids tracking large repositories of unlabeled data or private data repositories that require more than simple, almost auto-approved access forms. Importantly, while acknowledging the critical role of labeled geospatial data in conservation, this page does not track such data directly. Instead, it aims to track other lists of labeled geospatial data in a dedicated section.

The datasets are categorized into various types, including image data sets for terrestrial wild animals (ground-based and aerial/drone), domestic animals, marine/freshwater life, plants, and other image types. It also lists acoustic data sets and relevant competitions. Users are encouraged to email LILA if they know of additional datasets not on the list or if they wish to transfer ownership of an existing dataset.
