geOrchestra is a free, modular, and interoperable Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) software, initially developed in 2009 to address the requirements of the INSPIRE directive in Europe. The project's source code was placed under an open license, fostering a community-driven development model. Its move to GitHub in 2012 significantly enhanced code accessibility and encouraged broader contributions from users and developers.

The platform's core features include a security proxy and a single-sign-on authentication system, ensuring secure access to geospatial resources. Around this core, geOrchestra offers a collection of independent and interoperable modules designed to help users build their own Spatial Data Infrastructure. These modules encompass a data catalog (GeoNetwork), a map and features server (GeoServer), an advanced data access list manager (GeoFence), and a map tile server (GeoWebCache).

Further extending its capabilities, geOrchestra integrates MapStore for an advanced web map viewer, a Console for managing users, organizations, and roles, and an Analytics module for displaying data usage statistics. A DataFeeder module assists with data integration, alongside several other administration-oriented tools. This comprehensive suite allows for robust management and dissemination of spatial data.
