ESA/CCI viewer

The ESA/CCI viewer is a collaborative platform providing access to extensive geospatial datasets related to land cover and environmental conditions. It showcases the outputs of the European Space Agency's Climate Change Initiative, featuring contributions from numerous partner institutions such as UCL, Brockmann Consult, Wageningen University, and the Joint Research Centre.

This viewer allows users to interact with a variety of global datasets, including 300m CCI-LC Maps with 22 LCCS classes, Plant Functional Type (PFT) maps detailing percentage cover of 14 PFTs, and Global MERIS Surface Reflectance composites. These datasets are derived from satellite missions like MERIS, SPOT-VEGETATION, PROBA-V, and AVHRR, offering yearly classifications from 1992 up to 2022 for some products. Users can download large data packages or perform pixel-based data extraction in CSV format.

The platform functions as a central hub for accessing critical climate research data, enabling detailed analysis of land-use and land-cover change over time. It supports research and applications in climate modeling, environmental monitoring, and conservation efforts by providing easy access to harmonized, long-term satellite observations.
