Defra data services platform

This platform offers environmental data to inform actions and decisions. It makes data openly available to a wide range of users, helping to safeguard the natural environment, support the food and farming industry, and sustain a thriving rural economy. All data can also be found in the data.gov.uk catalogue.

Data feeds ensure users have the most up-to-date information, with nearly all data available for download in commonly used formats. Much of the data is spatial and can be readily used in GIS applications. Additionally, data is provided via an API Portal, built on Linked Data, targeting system and application developers. The platform uses these open APIs and spatial services to power its own applications, encouraging others to innovate and deliver environmental information.
