This platform offers current, historical, and projected climate data across North America, South America, Europe, and Africa. Users can access grids of interpolated data at 1km and 5km resolutions, alongside software packages designed for querying specific point locations. The datasets span historical climate normal periods, decadal averages, and annual, seasonal, and monthly data from 1901 to the present. Additionally, multi-model CMIP6 climate projections are available for the 2020s, 2050s, and 2080s.

The service calculates a wide array of derived variables crucial for economic or biological analysis, including drought indices, growing degree days, heating and cooling degree days, and frost-free periods. In total, over 20,000 spatial coverages of climate variables are available for download or interactive querying.

The methodological approaches for data interpolation vary by region, from thin-plate splines for Mexico and South America, to PRISM interpolations for North America and Europe, and deep learning with neural networks for Africa. There are ongoing efforts to upgrade the South America package to incorporate neural network-based interpolations.
