CanElevation

The CanElevation dataset provides comprehensive Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) for Canada, featuring a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), a Digital Surface Model (DSM), and various derived products. This dataset is available at multiple resolutions, including 1m, 2m, and 30m, offering detailed elevation information across the country.

The 1m and 2m resolution products are generated from a combination of data sources, primarily airborne LiDAR and optical digital images, ensuring high accuracy for specific regions. For broader coverage, the 30m DEM integrates data from the Copernicus DEM, acquired during the TanDEM-X Mission, with existing airborne LiDAR-derived DEM data, providing complete elevation coverage for all of Canada.

The dataset is hosted on the Registry of Open Data on AWS and is updated as new DEM models become available. It is released under the Open Government License (OGL), promoting accessibility and use of this valuable geospatial data.
